• Trim wick to 1/4th of an inch between each burn.
  Why? This extends the life of your candle, helps prevent soot and smoke, and prevents the candle from melting unevenly. It also helps keep the flame under control!
  
• Allow the wax to melt completely at the top to avoid tunneling. 
  What is tunneling? Tunneling is when a candle burns unevenly, usually straight down and not melting the sides or edges -- like a tunnel of wax! 
• Avoid keeping candles lit for longer than 4 hours at a time and never leave a lit candle unattended. 
  Why? You never know what could happen! We tell kids not to play with matches -- play with fire, you might get burned. 
• Keep out of reach of children and pets. 
  Why? I think you know why. 
• Keep away from flammable materials. 
  This seems self explanatory. 
• Make sure your candle is placed on a flat and stable surface. 
  This means not on a stack of books or anywhere it might get knocked over!
